About Star Valley Christian Church

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:35 NIV

Who We Are

The Star Valley Christian Church is a Bible-believing and Bible-based Christian church. Our church was founded on one simple yet complex commodity. Love. The word, emotion, and expression that is manifested and indeed is The Creator, Himself! If we have not love and do not love, we know not God. In studying the texts of The Bible, one unmistakeable truth is revealed…God is love! We are His followers and, despite our flaws, have been commissioned to share the good news (gospel) of His infinite love with the rest of the world!

What to Expect

At every event/meeting/service we make it a point to have a good time in the Lord! From deep discussions about faith, to lifting songs of praise towards heaven, all tied in with passionate testimonies and the energetic delivery of God’s Word which is made applicable to our daily lives. There is something for everyone. Even the little ones can participate.

When We Meet

At present, due to COVID-19, we get together online via Zoom on Wednesdays @ 7PM and Saturdays @ 10AM to discuss God’s Word together, pray, & testify of the goodness of The Creator! Please see our Zoom page for the full details. At 12:15PM on Saturdays, we also gather together online on Facebook and/or YouTube as our Sabbath Service is premiered. We would love to have you join us! Please see our Watch page for the full details.

Where We Meet

Even though we are not gathering together physically at this time, we are raising funds to plant the Star Valley Christian Church campus. To get an idea of what we have planned regarding our church & full campus plant, please see our Our Vision.

Why We Exist

The Star Valley Christian Church’s goal is to be light in a dark world. A light to the community. Giving hope to the hopeless by pointing all men, women, and children to Jesus Christ. Our purpose is not to beat on our chest calling attention to ourselves to boast of who we are; rather it is to speak, teach, and live a life of love calling attention to whose we are, Jesus Christ. Without Christ we have no purpose. Without Christ we have no hope. (see Matthew 28:19-20)

Let’s Get Together

If we have failed to make it clear, before now, that we would love nothing more than to have you join us as we learn more about and celebrate Jesus Christ, we apologize. We would love nothing more than to have you join us! You’ve learned a bit about us, and now we would like the same opportunity to get to know you. Won’t you join us?! We look forward to seeing you on Zoom, Facebook, and/or YouTube soon!

What We Believe

As a Christian Church, we believe that our fundamental faith is centered and surrounded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – the Hope of Glory. Consequently, the following is simply a reflection of the main tenants of what we believe and teach:

1) The acceptance of the entire Bible as relevant to the Christian faith as it teaches the precepts of truth as taught by Jesus in both the Old and New Testaments. (see 2 Tim. 3:16,17)

2) God, through the person of our Lord Jesus, created the heavens and the earth with all that is in them. (see Gen. 1:1; Jn. 1:1-3)

3) The Bible teaches that there is One God, but three distinct individuals, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal beings who uphold all things, and is shown in Scripture to work in sync with each other. (see Lk. 3:22; Jn. 1:1,2; Jn. 1:14; Jn. 14:26; Jn. 17)

4) Sin came into the world and death by sin through the fall or disobedience of Adam and in Eve the garden of Eden. Therefore, mankind needed a Redeemer, one who could save them from the penalty of sin (see Gen. 2; Gen. 3; Rom. 6:23; Eze. 18:4; Eze. 18:20

5) Although Jesus became human, He maintained His divinity/Godliness when He came to save us from our sins. (see Matt. 1:21-23; Jn. 17:5; Jn. 1:1-3; 1 Cor. 10:4)

6) The death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary was to save mankind from their sins (the Just for the unjust) and to provide life everlasting. (see Jn. 3:16; Isa. 53:1-12; 2 Cor. 5:21; Jn. 1:29).

7) Although Jesus went through enormous suffering, agony, and humiliation, no seen or unseen force took His life, instead He laid His life down for humanity. (see Jn. 10:18; Jn. 2:19-21)

8) Jesus is our advocate/attorney/high priest in heaven today as His blood represents the atoning sacrifice that reconciles mankind to God, He intercedes on our behalf.
(see 1 Jn. 2:1,2; Heb. 7:25; Rom. 3:25,26; 2 Cor. 5:18; Heb. 4:14-16)

9) Salvation is by Grace through Faith alone, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (see Eph. 2:8,9; Rom. 4:16; 2 Tim. 1:9; Acts 4:12)

10) Having been saved through faith does not give freedom to continue the practice of sin, rather the Christian is expected to live a holy and blameless life before God. (see Rom. 6:1-23; 1 Jn. 2:1)

11) Jesus Christ will return to earth someday according to His promise to take the faithful home with Him. (see Jn. 14:1-3; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-57)

12) God’s faithful people keeps His commandments and bears testimony of His Grace. (see Rev. 14:6-12; Rev. 12:17; Rom. 3:31)

13) The Ten Commandments are a transcript of God’s character, and are to be kept in its entirety, including the Sabbath day, the seventh day of the week. (see Ex. 20:3-17; Eze. 20:12; Eze. 20:20; Isa. 56:2; Isa. 58:13; Isa. 66:22,23; Matt. 12:8; Lk. 4:16; Acts 17:2)

14) As a symbol of God’s redemption people must repent and be baptized (by immersion), so that their sins might be washed away. (see Acts 2:38,39; Acts 3:19; Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4,5; Jn. 3:1-7)

15) The Bible teaches that the dead remain in their grave till Jesus comes, and are not in purgatory, but are asleep (see Job 14:12-14; Jn. 5:28; Acts 2:29; Acts 2:34; Rev. 20:6; 1 Thess 4:13-18).

16) A day of judgment will eventually come when every individual will be judged and sentenced to heaven or hell by a Righteous God. (see Acts 17:31; 2 Tim. 4:1; Jude 1:14,15; 1 Pt. 4:17; Rev. 20:12-15)

17) The Great Commission given by Jesus must be followed by all Christians in disseminating the gospel to all in every way possible. (see Matt. 28:19,20; 2 Cor. 4:5-7; Rom. 10:13-16; Isa. 52:7; Matt. 9:35-38; 1 Pt. 2:21; Matt. 5:14-16).
